4/18/2020 · GM published that they expected the 6.6 to use about 1.5 to 2 gallons of def per 100 gallons of fuel (1.5 -2 % of fuel usage). If 3.0 ratio is the similar, then expected def can then be worked out from average fuel usage. 9400 miles at 25 mpg 9400/25 = 376 gallons of fuel, 11/18/2019 · I do carry DEF with me at all times, since if I put 2.5 gallons in, in 600 miles it’s telling me Action Required add DEF. I don’t think my expected usage should be 2.5 gallons every 600 miles, it should be more like 2500 miles every 2.5 gallons. My 2016 Chevy Duramax went over 5000 miles on 5 gallons. V.

9/25/2017 · Attaching a self-burning blowtorch that sprays itself with urea is the wrong answer for diesels. The cost is out of control for DEF DPF systems, they don’t last long, and thus they drive consumers to buy brand new trucks when the current DPF DEF system breaks, which ruins any kind of environmental gains. Well, enough for my DPF rant.
11/26/2016 · So my 2016 Duramax has roughly 1000 miles on it and the DEF level went from OK to 28%. Do they consume more when brand new, or did the dealer likely just not fill it? DEF is used in ratio to fuel burned.
